CBD Hemp Extract Patch – Product Description

For a powerful, all-day boost of CBD, look no further than this Hemp Extract Patch from Made By Hemp. Containing 40mg of CBD, this patch is a transdermal product that can be placed anywhere on the body and will release a potent dose of hemp extract for about 12 hours.

How much is 40mg CBD? For comparison, one serving of our Tasty Drops 1000mg CBD Tincture provides 21.3mg CBD. That means the CBD Patch holds about 2 servings worth of one of our most potent tincture products. And, it need only be applied once for all-day relief. Because the patch allows CBD to enter the bloodstream directly through the skin, it does not need to pass through the digestive system or liver, systems that can break down some of the cannabinoids in a CBD product. Simply put, you’re able to receive 100% of the CBD benefits.

This patch contains CBD derived from industrial hemp plants. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound which occurs in high concentrations in hemp plants. It is extracted from hemp and used alone or as an ingredient in several products, including capsules, tinctures, concentrates, and skincare infusions.

CBD and hemp are not to be confused with THC and marijuana. Though hemp and marijuana are cousins, both part of the Cannabis plant family, they differ in several ways. This includes how/where they are grown, what they are used for, and how they affect the body. Marijuana is typically grown for its levels of THC, the compound that causes a high. While there are large amounts of THC in marijuana, there is only a low concentration of CBD.

On the other hand, hemp extract contains lots of CBD, but very little THC. To be legally considered hemp, the extract can contain no more than 0.3% THC. Even when large servings of a hemp-based CBD product are consumed, they won’t cause a high. The concentration of THC is too low for any psychoactive effects.

CBD Hemp Extract Patch – Certificate of Analysis

Certificate of Analysis CBD

The CBD Hemp Extract Patch has undergone a process called High Performance Liquid Chromatography, which tests the cannabinoid content of the product. Each batch undergoes this test to ensure potency and purity. The Certificate of Analysis (COA), which shows the current test results, is always available for you to view here.

Why Use a CBD Patch?

A patch releases CBD slowly over a long period of time, to provide consistent, all-day relief. You can think of this patch like a large Band-Aid, which can be placed on the body and worn for the day. If you are regularly taking CBD throughout the day, a patch is an ideal choice. Apply the patch in the morning, and go about your day while the patch releases a consistent amount of CBD.

Patches are also the most discreet way to take CBD. It can be applied to an area of the body that is normally hidden under clothing, so no one need know you are wearing a patch. And, because it is releasing CBD throughout the day, there is no need to consume additional supplements like softgels or tinctures.

And, because you are receiving CBD transdermally rather than orally, you can avoid the hempy flavor present in oral CBD supplements. While some people don’t mind the natural taste of hemp extract, others find the flavor unpleasant. It’s often described as “earthy.” Though there are several CBD products on the market that have been flavored for improved taste, with a patch you can avoid that issue entirely.

It’s important to note that this is a transdermal product. Although it is used on the exterior of the body, it is not considered a topical application. This means that while you wear the patch, the CBD is absorbed through your skin and into the bloodstream to support function throughout the entire body. Though there is a low concentration of THC in this product, THC is present and may appear on a drug test. If you work in an environment where drug tests are common, or have concerns about THC entering your body, we recommend a THC-free product, such as Hemp Oil Care Spray.

How to Use CBD Hemp Extract Patch

When you’re ready to use a CBD Patch, you’ll need to determine where to place it. It is typically recommended that a patch be placed on a “venous” area of the body. This means any area where there are many veins close to the surface of the skin. Common locations include the ankle, wrist, or arm.

Also, avoid placing the patch on any skin with wounds or scabs, or areas where there is a lot of hair. The hair can keep the patch from achieving even contact with the skin, interfering with the effectiveness of the patch.

Once you’ve decided where to place the patch, clean the desired area using warm water and soap or isopropyl alcohol. Then, pat the area dry.

The patch is ready to use right out of the packaging. Once you apply it to your skin, keep it there for at least 12 hours. Some people report feeling continued relief from patches longer than the 12 hours, and this patch can safely be worn longer than that. The manufacturer recommends keeping the patch on until you no longer feel any effects or relief, but for at least 12 hours to ensure all 40mg of CBD have time to enter the body.

If this is your first time using a CBD product, or you have concerns about how this patch may interfere with your prescription medications, be sure to speak with your doctor before use.
